Fruit Logistica 2018 –
an international fresh
produce extravaganza!

14 February 2018

We’re now back from Fruit Logistica 2018 in Berlin. Once more, we were impressed by the sheer scale of the event. Some statistics from 2017 show just how important it is for the fresh produce industry across the world. More than 75000 visitors attended the show from 130 countries to view exhibits from over 3000 companies. It truly is an international event.

As far as Global Plant Genetics is concerned, we had a very busy, productive and enjoyable four days in Berlin. We managed to meet over 50 important contacts from across the globe and there are some very exciting developments taking place from within our whole portfolio. Our meetings included current clients, prospective customers, plant breeders, as well as industry colleagues past and present.

Of particular interest were our varietal ranges in blueberries, asparagus, blackberries and other berries as well as grape rootstocks. Further, we attended some interesting meetings in a small range of new crop areas that could be introduced to the portfolio in the coming months and years.

This week, we are busy following up with the people we met and arranging future face to face appointments to look at new crops in more detail together.

Stay tuned to Global Plant Genetics where there will be plenty of exciting news in the near future.

Berlin – until next year – it’s been another great event!
